Our Newest Member of Staff

Posted on December 9, 2016 at 2:15 AM

We've talked about Ywam ToRCH. Today we would like to introduce our newest staff member ......... Eunice Aguti Otim

Where are you from?    Amuria District Uganda

When did you join YWAM ToRCH?    February 2016

What is your present role?   Immigration support staff

What is your vision?

I have a heart to help. I feel compassionate about those who are needy..who don't have the basics.

What does your job involve?

Processing papers and applying online for work permits, dependent and student passes. Liaising with the NGO board, paying visa fees in the bank and getting documents verified at the Uganda Revenue Authority. Travelling to Kampala with the passport holders once their passes/permits are granted - this verifies they are with us as part of YWAM Uganda. Basically keeping non Ugandans – YWAM staff, students and families - legal in our country.

What challenges do you face in your job?

Internet being slow or intermittent. Abrupt travel - going to Kampala for a face to face meeting to resolve an on-line application that is deferred. Generally a work permit includes a minimum of four trips to Kampala and the journey takes 3 – 4hours each way.

What do you enjoy about your work?

“I feel happy that my work is supporting those who are helping the needy.”
